Inching Closer

I have reached the one week mark till I leave!!! And all my paper work and preparations are piling up... I will be working right up until I leave it seems. I still need: gifts, time to pack, vaccinations (maybe), prepare for my going away party, and the list goes on!!! Not to mention that I am REALLY NERVOUS!!! What happens if my family doesn't like me, or something else happens!!! Ugh, I am really going to need tums for the way there. I got to see how it might look when I get off the plane. Yesterday I went to Green Bay to say sawadee (hello) to Balloon who is going to be the inbound from Thailand. We were all happy to see him and he looked relieved to see us! I just hope my first meeting goes that well.

I am also suppose to be changing up my sleep habits so that when I get there it will be easier to adjust. This means that I have lack of sleep from staying up late and having to wake up at ten everyday because my parents don't want me to waste the day... That is about 7hrs-2hrs of sleep each night that I get. Yes I get cranky sometimes and crave naps like no other. Oh well I guess. That's probably the hardest way I am trying to adjust and prepare for Thailand.

I have bought a new computer for the trip, found my hammy down camera, pulled out my suit case, and now I am getting gifts. Each hour now is an hour closer to Thailand and a harsher realization that I am actually going to leave my little town and join the big world. My life will evolve and I will hopefully come back a changed person. So much do I just want to be walking down the tunnel of the terminal to my plane. Where I will be flown away from the family I love and to head toward the family that I will love. It's so close I can almost touch it!!! Sawadee ka!!

First time for everything

So I have never posted before or have even looked at a blog so this is all new to me. I will try to keep up on this but who knows what will happen. Anyway, so I am suppose to be packing for Grand Rapids (the big Rotary Foreign Exchange conference) and I haven't even started... Ugh. I am pretty pumped though, because I get to meet so many people from around the world!!! And show them that I am not skilled in Thai whatsoever. Let me just say, Thai is a really difficult language. It is tonal so if you don't drop the pitch of your voice on a certain letter you end up saying a totally different word! So yeah. Any how, I will try to keep up on posting but who knows what will happen. :)
